The origins and significance of playing cards in different countries
Playing cards originated in China, appearing as early as the Zhou Dynasty; “Cutting leaves to make guides” was a game played with leaves. Later, it was called “Ye Xi”, which clearly expresses this. We don’t know when it was replaced by playing cards. Since I lived in the mountains, this simple game of playing with leaves still existed in my youth, which must be a continuation of ancient entertainment wisdom.
